This project addresses that problem by proposing an AI-based early outbreak detection system that identifies unusual increases in disease cases before they escalate into larger outbreaks.\n\nThe system collects anonymized and aggregated case counts from hospitals and health centers, including daily or weekly reports for illnesses such as fever, dengue, influenza, and other infectious diseases. It learns the normal patterns of disease occurrence for each region from historical surveillance data and continuously analyzes new data for abnormal spikes, sustained growth trends, seasonal deviations, and geographic clustering. When an unusual pattern is detected, it generates an early warning with a risk level of Low, Medium, or High and visualizes the affected locations on an interactive dashboard and map. Because access to real-time hospital data is restricted by privacy concerns, the prototype uses publicly available historical disease datasets and IDSP outbreak reports to replay historical outbreaks and evaluate how early the system can detect warning signs.\n\n## Key Features\n\n- Rolling Z-score and EWMA-based anomaly detection per district-disease pair\n- Prophet-based forecasting for selected high-priority time series\n- Risk-level classification (Low / Medium / High)\n- Interactive map-based dashboard for outbreak visualization\n- Chronological train/validation/test split for realistic backtesting\n\n## System Architecture / ML Pipeline\n\n```mermaid\nflowchart TD\n A[Raw Dataset] --> B[Data Cleaning]\n B --> C[Daily Aggregation]\n C --> D[Missing Date Fill]\n D --> E[Time Series Construction]\n E --> F[Series Validation & Sparsity Flagging]\n F --> G[Train/Val/Test Split]\n\n subgraph Stage1[Stage 1: Data Preparation]\n A\n B\n C\n D\n E\n F\n G\n end\n\n G --> H[Anomaly Detection Model<br/>Rolling Z-score / EWMA]\n H --> I[Flagship Forecasting<br/>Prophet]\n I --> J[Risk Level Assignment]\n J --> K[Dashboard & Map Visualization]\n\n subgraph Stage2[Stage 2-4: Modeling & Deployment]\n H\n I\n J\n K\n end\n```\n\n\n## Stage-wise Reports\n\n| Stage | Description | Report |\n|-------|-------------|--------|\n| 1 | Data Preparation & Preprocessing | [View Report](ai/reports/stage_wise_reort/STAGE1_README.md) |\n| 2 | Time Series Construction & Validation | [View Report](ai/reports/stage_wise_reort/STAGE2_README.md) |\n| 3 | Anomaly Detection & Forecasting Model | [View Report](ai/reports/stage_wise_reort/STAGE3_README.md) |\n| 4 | Dashboard, Risk Mapping & Deployment | [View Report](ai/reports/stage_wise_reort/STAGE4_README.md) |\n\n<details>\n<summary>Stage 1 sub-step checklist</summary>\n\n- [ ] Load & validate dataset\n- [ ] Clean data\n- [ ] Aggregate to daily counts\n- [ ] Fill missing dates\n- [ ] Construct individual time series\n- [ ] Validate time series\n- [ ] Flag sparse series\n- [ ] Chronological train/val/test split (2018-2023 / 2024 / 2025)\n- [ ] Save outputs\n\n</details>\n\n## Tech Stack\n\n- Backend/ML: Python, Pandas, NumPy, Prophet, scikit-learn\n- Visualization: Plotly, Leaflet, or Google Maps JavaScript API\n- Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript\n\n## Getting Started\n\n1.
