Users interact with a visual node-based canvas where prompts can be iteratively refined through AI-assisted questioning, then split into subtasks.\n\n## Development\n\nThis is a vanilla JavaScript web application with no build system or dependencies. To run locally, serve the files with any static HTTP server:\n\n```bash\npython -m http.server 8000\n# or\nnpx serve .\n```\n\nThen open `http://localhost:8000` in a browser.\n\n## Architecture\n\n### Core Files\n- `index.html` - Single page with modal for API key entry, topbar with export button, and canvas viewport\n- `script.js` - All application logic in a single file\n- `styles.css` - CSS with custom properties for theming\n\n### State Management\nAll state lives in the global `state` object in `script.js`:\n- `nodes` - Map of node objects (id, parentId, title, prompt, status, locked, children, history, x, y coordinates)\n- `rootId` - ID of the root node\n- `panX/panY/scale` - Canvas viewport transform\n- `apiKey` - Stored in localStorage as `deepseek_api_key`\n\n### Node Lifecycle\n1. **Draft** - Initial state, user enters prompt text\n2. **Questioning** - AI asks clarifying questions via `REFINE_SYSTEM_PROMPT`\n3. **Complete** - Prompt is finalized, can be split or locked\n4. **Locked** - Frozen, cannot be edited or split\n\n### Key Functions\n- `refinePrompt(node)` - Sends conversation to DeepSeek for iterative refinement\n- `requestSplit(node)` - Uses `SPLIT_SYSTEM_PROMPT` to break task into child nodes\n- `createNode(options)` - Creates node, adds to DOM, sets up event listeners\n- `updateConnections()` - Redraws SVG bezier curves between parent/child nodes\n- `exportTodo()` - Generates markdown TODO list from node tree\n\n### API Integration\nDeepSeek API calls go to `https://api.deepseek.com/v1/chat/completions` with the `deepseek-chat` model.
