OpenCode 68a9071cf1 feat: reconcile local master with origin (exa/hot-platform hunters, leaks ledger, latest results)
Local branch had diverged from origin/master (sibling commits on the same base). Rewrote local history linearly on top of origin/master, folding in all local content: exa/hot-platform discovery hunters, leaks ledger, nightly sweep orchestrator, updated .gitignore and skill docs, plus the latest hunt output and vault state. Remote-only files (vault keys, channel scripts) were restored rather than dropped, so the resulting tree is a full union of both sides.

Today's Lead · Developing · Major Escalation · Day 17 of the model-wave arc
\n
OpenAI ships GPT-5.6 — but only to ~20 customers the government approves one by one
\n
The export-control net just widened from one lab to two. OpenAI released GPT-5.6 on Jun 25–26 — a three-model family (Sol, its strongest model yet; Terra, GPT-5.5-class quality at ~2× cheaper; Luna, its cheapest) — but only in a limited preview after the White House asked OpenAI to restrict initial access to roughly 20 government-vetted partners, with CEO Sam Altman telling staff the administration would approve access \"customer by customer\" during the preview (MacRumors, CNN, Engadget). The request came from the Office of the National Cyber Director and OSTP; Commerce Secretary Lutnick reportedly advised against launching without cross-agency sign-off — the exact playbook used two weeks ago to dark Anthropic's Fable 5 / Mythos 5. Sol leads on agentic coding, biology and cyber, adds \"max\"/\"ultra\" reasoning modes, and is the first OpenAI model trained with a redesigned pipeline that audits for the cross-persona reward leakage blamed for GPT-5.5's alignment failure. Broader rollout is floated \"a couple of weeks\" out, contingent on the customer-by-customer process.
\n
So what: the question is no longer \"which lab gets restricted\" — it's that frontier launches now ship through a federal approval gate. If you were counting on GPT-5.6 as your Fable/Mythos fallback, your access is now a government decision; keep an open-weight Plan C live and assume gated, US-first availability.
\n ARC: MODEL-WAVE · D17CONFIDENCE: 2x SRC\n
\n MacRumors (Sol/Terra/Luna) ·\n CNN (White House request) ·\n Engadget ·\n Let's Data Science\n
\n READ FULL BRIEF ▾\n
\n
What shipped. After a June release window that looked lapsed (Polymarket's Jun 22–28 odds had collapsed ~83%→~18%), OpenAI quietly launched GPT-5.6 in a limited preview on Jun 25–26: Sol (flagship — \"most robust safety stack to date,\" agentic gains in coding/biology/cybersecurity, new \"max\" reasoning effort and an \"ultra\" sub-agent mode), Terra (GPT-5.5-class quality at ~2× lower cost) and Luna (lowest price). Leaks long pointed to a ~1.5M-token context; the headline is governance, not specs (MacRumors).
\n
Why it's the lead. This is the decisive event that escalates the whole export-control arc: a second US lab now ships its best model through a government approval gate. The White House — via the Office of the National Cyber Director and OSTP — asked OpenAI to limit GPT-5.6 to ~20 vetted partners because of its capabilities; Altman framed the approvals as happening \"customer by customer\" (CNN). It directly follows the Anthropic precedent and turns a one-off into a pattern (see Developing #2).
\n
The caveats. \"~20 partners\" and the \"customer by customer\" line are reported from internal remarks; OpenAI has not published a model card or pricing page for the gated tier as of this edition. The alignment-pipeline claim (cross-persona reward-leakage audit) is OpenAI's own framing of a GPT-5.5 fix, not independently verified. The \"couple of weeks\" broader-rollout timeline is contingent and unconfirmed.
\n
Watch next. Whether a public model card and pricing appear; how many customers clear the gate and how fast; whether Google (Gemini 3.5 Pro, slipping to July) faces the same ask; and whether Congress folds GPT-5.6 into its open questions about the Anthropic action.
\n
\n
\n
\n
Facts
\n
\n
What

GPT-5.6 family: Sol (flagship), Terra (~2× cheaper than 5.5), Luna (cheapest)
\n
When

Limited preview Jun 25–26, 2026
\n
The gate

White House asked OpenAI to limit to ~20 gov-vetted partners; access approved \"customer by customer\" (Altman to staff)
\n
Who asked

Office of the National Cyber Director + OSTP; Lutnick advised against launching without cross-agency sign-off
\n
Precedent

Same model-level control used on Anthropic's Fable 5 / Mythos 5 (Jun 12)
\n
Caveat

No public model card/pricing for the gated tier; \"~20\" and timeline are reported, not confirmed
\n
Impact

9/10 — every enterprise planning a frontier-model migration or fallback
\n
\n
\n
\n\n\n
\n
The 30-Second Read THE THREE THAT MATTER MOST TODAY
\n
\n
\n
1
\n
GPT-5.6 ships — through a government gate
\n
OpenAI launches Sol/Terra/Luna in limited preview, but the White House caps access at ~20 vetted partners, approved \"customer by customer.\" The Anthropic playbook, now applied to a second lab. ESCALATED.
\n
\n
\n
2
\n
Anthropic Day 16 — odds cool
\n
Fable 5 & Mythos 5 still dark, zero traffic. Deep beat of the day = regional + AI jobs hotspots. v2 format splits the feed into NEW ON THE WIRE (ids absent last edition), DEVELOPING (carried threads with an explicit change-line) and STILL TRACKING (long-runners, no movement). Hero = biggest new item UNLESS a Developing thread had a major escalation — today GPT-5.6's gated launch is that decisive event, so the hero is a Developing thread. Aggregator claims cross-checked against ≥2 outlets where possible; single-source items chip-flagged (2x SRC / Primary / Agg 1x / Rumor-flag). Impact /10 = breadth of who must act.
\n
KNOWN SCAN GAPS THIS EDITION: this is an escalation-led day — the dominant story is a carried thread (GPT-5.6), not a flood of new items; 6 genuinely new ids shipped rather than padding to 10. GPT-5.6's \"~20 vetted partners\" and the \"customer by customer\" line come from reported internal remarks (CNN/Engadget/MacRumors); OpenAI has not published a model card or pricing for the gated tier, and the \"couple of weeks\" broader-rollout timeline is contingent. The Anthropic restoration odds are prediction-market snapshots (Polymarket via Odaily/Yahoo) that move intraday; \"Jun 26 congressional deadline passed unanswered\" reflects no PUBLIC Commerce rationale as of this edition, not a confirmed absence of any private response. The AI-jobs map blends a 2026 India forecast (CareerIndia: ~350K openings), a Dubai AI Week hiring-trend estimate (HireDeveloper.ae, employer blog — Agg) and a live US layoffs tracker (Skillsyncer/TechCrunch/CBS); figures are point-in-time. Karpathy→Anthropic is honestly dated May 19 and flagged NOT new24h (surfaced now, not broken in 24h). The enterprise-agent-cloud item (AWS Amazon Quick, Agentforce 360 for AWS, OpenAI-on-Bedrock) rests partly on vendor posts and event coverage whose exact dates were not all pinned to the 24h window — chip-flagged Agg 1x. Research items (ScaleSWE, DeonticBench) are from a June roundup + arXiv listings, not independently re-run. SPCX ~$152.15 is Jun 26 data, not re-checked at IST close; the $25B bond / ~$89B demand figure is a single trade-press source. Auto-retirements: oracle-ai-layoffs folds into the new AI-jobs item; the generic agent-security tracker is superseded by the CVE-numbered agent-cves item; suno-round, openai-s1, us-state-preemption, spacex-cursor, pew-ai-survey and the gpt55-cyber / ai-supply-chain trackers were retired or condensed for space with no material movement.
\n
NOTE: Links point to sources found during the scan; where only an outlet root or roundup was available it is labelled as such.
